Client Situation
A National Labor firm based in Washington, DC represented a union client with a large and complex matter which required computer forensic collection services, electronic processing, hosting and review by barred legal professionals.   Although the firm's reputation in the legal community was impeccable, it needed assistance in managing a review of this magnitude for which it had no prior experience. 

TDS Strategic Approach and Execution
Both the labor law firm, with their union client, contacted our strategic partner, who was brought in prior to the suit being filed.  The firm and the union informed our partner of the dissolution of negotiations, projected claims within the case, and the assumed scope.  Our partner began by implementing a cost containment strategy for the firm and its union client. They then created a project cost estimate, categorized by service and teams assumptions, within a capped model of $500k.
This sat in sharp contrast to other service providers' estimated costs of between $1 million - $2.5 million. Using a capped model allowed a service budget which included a discount in rates and a variance that protected all parties. Having this in place put our team directly in line with the client’s goals and values. 
Our partners then began to execute the first phase of the strategic approach by forensically collecting information from over 350 devices involving approximately 200 custodians within one month from over ten locations around the United States.  With slightly over 4 TBs of data total, our partners were able to reduce the processed data to under 1 TB and then further reduce the hosted data to 70 GBs. TDS then executed the second phase of the strategic approach by interviewing over 100 attorney reviewer candidates over the course of four days and placing 30 of them on the project.  By tapping into Taylor Professional Staffing’s comprehensive candidate database, TDS was able to identify these qualified professionals who possessed the precise skill set necessary to complete the review within an extremely tight time frame. Using our partners' state of the art turnkey review facilities and their secure information technology infrastructure in the heart of Washington DC, all 30 reviewers were housed there comfortably along with five of the firms' associates. Because the client chose to work with us, they gained immediate access to a forensic data collection team that's second to none along with the most qualified legal professionals in the region.  Phase three of the strategic approach involved having our forensic data professionals and litigation consultants on-site to ensure that the chain of custody was followed throughout the project.  Since the managed review occurred four blocks from the firm's headquarters, the clients had convenient access to the review site to keep abreast of project metrics.

The attorney review team reviewed and analyzed all of the data for this case in less than five weeks.  The matter ultimately settled in favor of our clients, who saved an additional $150k through our capped model, counsel, and implemented strategies over the course of the collection and review. Without assistance, the client would not have met their project deadline had they attempted to recruit these attorney professionals on their own. The ability to quickly locate these top notch legal professionals, combined with our proven reputation as an industry leader in business forensics, enabled the client to complete the project on deadline and far below the projected cost of the managed review.
